The Watcher of the Mists
School Illusion (phantasm); Level Sorcerer/Wizard 2
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S, M (pinch of fine sand)
Range Medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Target one creature
Duration permanent (D)
Saving Throw Will negates; Spell Resistance yes
This spell causes the target to become blind. Its eyes become jet black and pupilless, save for many tiny white specks, making the target’s eyes appear like the sky on a cloudless night. Due to the eeriness of this effect, the target receives a -2 circumstance penalty to all skill checks when interacting with others socially (e.g. Bluff checks, Diplomacy checks, Profession (merchant) checks to bargain prices, etc.)
While under the effects of this spell, all the target can see are a field of stars. The positions of the stars appear to be fixed in space; the subject sees different stars if he looks in different directions. In fact, the stars the target sees are the actual positions of the stars and planets in the sky that he could see if there was nothing blocking the view. He can also see the positions of the sun and moon in the sky. This means that the target can use the Survival skill with no penalty to determine direction and time of day.
This spell can be dispelled normally. It is automatically ended by break enchantment, remove blindness, remove curse, and stronger spells (such as limited wish).
